Network for Tucson Refugee Outreach

Connecting congregations and individuals in serving refugees

In the "love your neighbor as yourself" chapter, God tells his people, "You shall not do wrong to those of foreign origin who live in your land, but you shall love them as native-born, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt, I am the LORD your God" (Leviticus 19:33,34).

Our Vision

To develop a network that promotes, trains and supports refugee co-sponsorship and ministry within the evangelical Christian community of Southern Arizona.

  • to promote local mission to refugees

  • to provide expertise and training in mission and specifically in refugee outreach

  • to encourage and facilitate congregations and individuals to co-sponsor and connect with a people group or nationality

  • to support one another by sharing ideas and resources

  • to pray for refugees, their families, and one another

Our approach - for now

As Christ-followers, we take seriously the words of Jesus, “Love your neighbor as yourself” and “Make disciples of all nations…”  Towards the fulfillment of these purposes, we agree to work cooperatively with refugee agencies in Tucson; facilitate the identification and sponsorship of refugees; encourage congregations to co-sponsor refugee families, develop ESL tutoring/classes, participate in Discovery groups, and assist refugees in forming indigenous faith communities.

We expect that will learn along the way and we hope to grow in wisdom. Therefore, our approach may change over time.
